    Hello everyone,

I am student in Natural Language Processing (Language Technology) in Uppsala, Sweden. I'm currently searching for ideas for my Masters thesis and I am considering doing a cross-subject project that it involves a climate change related topic, since I consider it an extremely urgent issue and I would like to contribute somehow.

I got the idea from this paper and this thesis. I was wondering if there is someone in this forum that has some knowledge or experience with NLP and Science. In that case it would be great if I could get any ideas or suggestions from you.

My ideas so far are to work on a climate-change-topic-focused Name Entity Recognition or Information Retrieval system.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi Samuel-
Just a short note to respond to your inquiry. I'll drop another line when I have more time this weekend. I have been doing research and development work for a think-tank in NYC on climate change coordination systems for collective intelligence. You should check out www.climatetagger.net  as a great tool for one aspect of NLP, the structuring of a common metadata framework. I'm developing a cross-platform semantic web data representation and knowledge-as-a-service framework that promotes citizen science and collaborative research efforts to pool data using a github style version control system, for reproducing research, and combining AI and ML across organizations. More to it, but thought i'd just say hi. Talk soon-
