    Join us at the Oceania Ecosystem Services Forum - 2-6 September 2019, Christchurch, New Zealand

    The 2nd call for ABSTRACTS and PROPOSAL SUBMISSION is open until Friday 10th May!

    Submit your abstract to present your research or experiences either orally or by poster at OESF 2019 (2 - 6 Sept 2019, Christchurch, New Zealand). Proposals are also being accepted to run workshops, deliver town hall meetings, side events or community activities!

    This event will build on the success of the first OESF held in 2017 in Brisbane, Australia in raising the profile of the value of ecosystems in decision-making in the Oceania region.

    *Also note: We have a funding opportunity available for citizens of Pacific countries from the following countries. See details at: Fellowships and Funding *

    The second ACES Oceania Ecosystem Services Forum (OESF) will build on the success of the inaugural event in Brisbane, Australia in 2017, that raised the profile of the value of ecosystems in decision-making in the Oceania region.

    OESF 2019 aims to bring together policy-makers, businesses, community leaders and researchers with the aspiration of managing, restoring and creating healthy communities and ecosystems for a resilient future.

    The forum will:

    • bring together the growing assembly of government, non-government, business, academia, indigenous groups, youth and local communities involved in identifying, measuring, valuing and making decisions about ecosystem services;
    • provide an opportunity for the ecosystem services community to present, discuss and brainstorm approaches to addressing societies most pressing challenges;
    • link best practice ecosystem services science (indigenous and mainstream), planning, governance, valuation, accounting and management (e.g. in agriculture, tourism, trade, conservation, protection, restoration and rehabilitation) with the needs of local stakeholders; and
    • mobilise and engage Oceania stakeholders in relevant regional and global initiatives.

    We look forward to welcoming you to the beautiful city of Christchurch - a top New Zealand tourism destination famous for its gardens, surrounding landscapes and recent inner-city rebuilds.
