at the Global Sustainability Institute/Anglia Ruskin University we are offering two exciting FULLY FUNDED (fee waiver + bursary) PhD positions.1. 'Investigating the resilience potential of heritage in response to climate change-led conflict in UK-based refugees from developing contexts'.
This PhD will explore how heritage can provide resilience to climate change in communities of refugees in the UK originally displaced by environmental conflict.
This is an exciting new field of research where the candidate will be able to make a particularly relevant original contribution to knowledge and practice by collaborating with key NGOs and practitioners working on the ground.

2. 'New approaches to participatory development for social-ecological resilience: A case study from Garhwal, North-West India'.
This PhD will develop and test new participatory approaches to sustainable development, with a specific focus on development initiatives which may help to build resilience to the social-ecological challenges faced by small rural communities.
By conducting fieldwork in Sainji (Uttarakhand State, India) the candidate will be able to make a particularly relevant original contribution to knowledge and have a real impact by collaborating with the local community and practitioners working on the ground.
