Starts:  Nov 13, 2019 9:00 AM (CT)
Ends:  Nov 15, 2019 6:00 PM (CT)

The inno4sd network will hold its annual symposium in Mexico City from 13 to 15 November 2019.  Earlier editions of the inno4sd.net Symposium  were held in Brussels (2018, 2015), Pretoria (2017), and Nicosia (2016).

The fifth edition of the
inno4sd.net Symposium is organised by the Innovation for Sustainable Development Network in collaboration with the European Commission (DG RTD), Mexican Ministry of Foreign Affairs (tbc), Universidad Iberoamericana, Sustainable Development Solutions Network. Green Growth Knowledge Platform, CISAI, Greenmomentum, REMECID, McGill University, GODAN, the Inter-American Development Bank, among others. The Mexican non-for profit entity Nacional Monte de Piedad has provided a very much valued sponsorship for the organisation of the event.

On the 13th of November inno4sd.net will hold a high-level policy forum at the Mexican Congress on the role of public policies to support science and innovation in achieving the sustainable development goals (SDGs), with a particular focus on inclusive and green innovation, circular economy and sustainable and healthy food systems.

The 14th and 15th of November will be dedicated to an open science-policy dialogue between networks of academics, policy makers and practitioners. Lessons
learnt on social innovation and financing are a central element of the agenda of this dialogue.

The inno4sd Mexico symposium will advance the regional discussions started during the  multi-stakeholder event held in Guadalajara, Mexico in June 2018. The Guadalajara Forum attracted 325 registered participants and a total of 195 participants. More information available at https://blogs.iteso.mx/eiids/ (in Spanish). The inno4sd symposium is also calling all entities working on entrepreneurship and innovation in Mexico to create a coalition and an a roadmap (action programme) to progress in the generation and use of solution to pressing challenges as described by the Agenda 2030 of the SDGs, the Paris Agreement and the Aichi biodiversity targets.
