I am the digital and social media communications lead for Future Earth. I started off my career studying science (ecology and evolutionary biology) before realizing that I have way too much wanderlust for that. I moved to a career in communicating about science, taking tricky topics and boiling them down for a wide array of audiences. I'm especially keen about writing about the complex but always fascinating connections between humans and the environment. I've tackled stories on everything from collapsing coastlines in the Arctic, and the impacts on indigenous communities there, and paleontologists who hunt for whale fossils on the Chesapeake Bay.
I'm based out of the Future Earth global hub in Colorado. When I'm not working, I'm biking, hiking through the beautiful Colorado Rockies or playing board games.
